The new ElasticPress Labs version is here and we’re thrilled to introduce two new features with it!
Geo Location – Order and filter content based on physical locations
If you want to display the store closest to your user, this new feature is for you. Building a Real Estate site? We’ve got you covered.
Out of the box, the feature allows you to add latitudes and longitudes to your content. If you provide it with a Google Maps API Key, it will also add a new address field, where you can type and select the best match.
If your content already has those coordinates in a meta field, that is no problem. Using one of our filters, you can adjust ElasticPress behavior to use that instead.
You can see this feature in action on our demo website.
Search Templates – ElasticPress.io solution for headless sites (and more!)
Back in 2022, when Instant Results was released, it also came with our Search API. That is a secure way to fetch data from your ElasticPress.io indices, bypassing WordPress loading time completely. We stored one search template, and any search term and extra parameters would be replaced on that template by our servers.
Now, we’re taking it a step further: you can upload and manage up to 10 different templates, making it the perfect solution for headless sites that need to query data without exposing your ElasticPress.io credentials.
That is not all, though. Through 10up’s HeadstartWP framework, we are also releasing a React component to help you easily build that integration!
As templates are stored in our infrastructure, this feature requires an ElasticPress.io plan. If you are not a client yet, use our 14-day free trial to check it out!
