ElasticPress 5.2.0 released with the new ACF Repeater Field Compatibility feature

by

ElasticPress 5.2.0 is now available! In addition to several bug fixes, it also brings a brand new and long-awaited feature: a way to index your repeater fields in Advanced Custom Fields PRO.

Your ACF Repeater fields are now searchable

With the new ACF Repeater Field Compatibility feature enabled, you can select which repeater fields you want to index in ElasticPress. Due to the way ACF fields are stored in the database, only root-level fields are eligible to be indexed.

Checking the Index in ElasticPress toggle will only store your field’s value though. If you want to make it searchable, make sure you visit your Search Fields & Weighting dashboard, find your field under the related post types, mark them as searchable, and save.

We’ve also prepared a documentation article with all the details needed to set up the feature.

Document Status

Not sure if your post in Elasticsearch is up to date with its content in WordPress? The new Document Status indicator now shows if a post isn’t found in Elasticsearch, if it is there but outdated, or if everything is in sync.

This lays the foundation for an AI-related feature we will release in the upcoming months. Stay tuned!

Other changes

This version also changes the minimum required version of WordPress from 6.0 to 6.2 (released in March 2023). Make sure you update your WordPress version before updating the ElasticPress plugin.
